Scope of This Manual
This guide is intended for new users of MDSplus. It contains a discussion of basic MDSplus concepts, basic commands for retrieving and storing data, an introduction to the built-in expression evaluator and instructions on the use of the graphical tools, SCOPE, JSCOPE, and TRAVERSER, which provide point and click access to MDSplus data and structures.
This guide does not include detailed information on installing MDSplus software or creating and editing MDSplus data structures. Nor does it explain how to set up data acquisition or automated analysis systems. Details on these and other advanced subjects can be found in the users manual and reference manuals.
