The easiest way to install MDSplus on your system is to go to the Software Downloads page and download the installation kit appropriate for your particular computer system. There is a windows installer kit for Windows and various rpm kits for Linux based operating systems. On Linux systems you will also need to install openmotif,xinetd and java if they are not already installed. Openmotif is being phased out of Redhat Linux distributions because of licensing issues so you may need to obtain the openmotif kit from The MotifZone

If none of the kits available from the download page is applicable for your platform you might try building MDSplus from the source code. See the Software:BuildingFromSources page for more information.
